Pocoyo

To start with, I was introduced to Pocoyo by Momoko who had it all over FB with everyone saying how CUTE POCOYO was. :) Pocoyo, as I have Googled is a Spanish animation/cartoon with the English version for the UK audience. I hope I'm right :)

Then, few days later,
this came from Adelene. To be honest, I was REALLY surprised and then I thought to myself

Eh? Pocoyo?

Coincidence much?

I was looking at her drawing for more than 10 minutes. OMG. To tell you the truth, I have no idea why but I just don't like to look at drawings unless its a painting that has aesthetic value Haha. Why am I talking like as if I know so much about art? Yeah, but anyhow, this one just left me admiring it.

Thankies, Adelene =D

Talking about birthdays/ birthdates

On three consecutive Mondays, in October (insert year here), three babies were born

Azree 8
C. Ying 15
Me 22

Oh, and we were schoolmates... heh!

Haha okay, I know, random kan?

The ordeal

The day started out okay on TUESDAY although I must admit I still cannot believe I had less than 30 minutes of PROPER SLEEP the night before, thanks to the killer assignment of 2700 words.

After COM lecture (which was the FINAL one) three girls (PT AND SF, who left midway) went to EAT at the cafeteria. Needless to say, the cafeteria as always issn't that windy or airy. So, as usual, our hang-out place would be the library.

So, off we went to the LIBRARY. Unfortunately, me being me, didn't even step into the library. Instead, I was lying on the floor ... all thanks to my shoe which got stuck in between the metal gaps of the drain cover. (Meh, so lousy punya explanation)

Was trying to adjust my shoe but crashed instead (and maybe it was because I didn't crash on MONDAY that I had to crash YESTERDAY :/)

Then, started having this monologue:

Jo Leen, you've been working too hard
Too hard for a HD in all your coursework
Time to lower your expectations
You've been SLEEPING at UNGODLY hours of the day
It's HIGH TIME YOU CHANGE all that and LOVE YOURSELF MORE

Random Monash-ians helped me up but that didn't do anything to reduce my PAIN

Suddenly, I was thinking of what happened in Form 4
Same thing, albeit it happened in class and no, no drain cover
Just that I hit my thigh and sprained my leg

The only difference between that time and this?

HELP came sooner
WAY sooner
Jackson Lee came back with the WHEELCHAIR in 10 minutes, since he insisted that the NURSE could only see me at the infirmary and not in class.
AND wheeled me down to the INFIRMARY at the speed of lightning
Within half an hour, I was already able to walk back to class using the ramp

HE was AWESOME
The infirmary was CLOSE BY
The nurse? Way friendlier and super efficient.

Well, the other time I had sth like that was back in college... and they were also QUITE okay-lah considering they at least had an INFIRMARY.

But right here? This was what happened.

Friends initially panicked
Didn't know what to do
Me? I didn't know where the infirmary was...

I thought I could at least get some spray from the infirmary (when I found out where it was)
But someone kept insisting I went to Sunway Med Ctr
Because you know IF I FALL I NEED immediate attention
But they weren't immediate enough.

Fall took place at 11.10 am
Got the wheelchair only at 11.30 am from the security people
In between had to explain to someone from student well-being
Then, bear with the pain, summore... :(

Had to climb into the van, summore.
OMG man...

Once reached they checked on me for fever and all that
Asked me about history where once again I had to repeat the same old "I have cerebral palsy" and thankfully they understood (They should.)
Had another round of ordeal in the X-ray room.
Sighhhh........

They gave me an ICE pack which was kinda a bit too late
Cuz I could feel my body telling me
If YOU wait some more, the pain is gonna kill YOU.

Man, after waiting and waiting and waiting
X-ray came out
Showed NOTHING
Thank GOD
Pls don't ask me how much I paid

See? That was WHY I said: I only needed a SPRAY
AT least, it would ease the pain a bit otw to the hospital
But, oh well...
I'm not in SRI KDU anymore :(
There's no Jackson to wheel me down to the infirmary at lightning speed anymore :(

But, thankfully, I had RACHEL and CHARMAIN who was willing to teman me to hospital :)
AND let me know I'm not alone.

Can't walk now.
If I do, the pain will come roaring back at me :(

What a perfect way to end the semester (well, friday's the last day)
And to celebrate my birthday (which is coming soon btw)

Validation: the masterpiece :)

So, instead of having the usual rigid TESTS that we always do in schools, we were HOWEVER welcomed by this very simple yet meaningful short film that made us feel completely :) after seeing this just before the test.

A MUST-WATCH :D

Do smile :D

Slow dance

This poem was written by a terminally ill young girl at a hospital in New York. It was sent by a medical doctor

(I dunno how far this is true)

but I love it :)

Have you ever watched kids
Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?

Or listened to the rain

Slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down.

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

Do you run through each day

On the fly?

When you ask How are you?

Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done
!

Do you lie in your bed

With the next hundred chores

Running through your head?

You'd better slow down

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

Ever told your child,

We'll do it tomorrow?

And in your haste,

Not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch,

Let a good friendship die

Cause you never had time

To call and say,'Hi'

You'd better slow down.

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere

You miss half the fun of getting there.

When you worry and hurry through your day,

It is like an unopened gift....

Thrown away.

Life is not a race.

Do take it slower

Hear the music

Before the song is over.
