Okay, so on Monday, I went to the library just before my class to see whether the book I wanted (so badly) was there on the shelf..
Sad to say, it wasn't there :(
I figured if I were to wait any longer, my assignments wouldn't be done. Currently 500 plus words.
So, went to ask the lending services people and explained my problem
Gave me a form to fill in
Then, this girl came from nowhere and asked me: Why? What's wrong with this book?
(At that time I was actually HOLDING another book in my hand, waiting to be self-loaned)
Me: Oh.... no, no not this book. I can't find a book.. another one.
Girl: Oh, last time I also cannot find
Me: yalar! There's a gap in between, right, the shelf, the call number also?
Girl: Which course are you doing?
Me: (insertcoursehere)
Girl: Wah! I actually like that course wor... I'm in Pharmacy!
Me: Then take-lah...
Girl: My parents don't let :( They said no job :( :(
Me: Aww... as elective???
Girl: :( no space :(

she had a name which sounded very much like the Malay word 'sinar'
XD
No, she isn't Malay.

Anyway, off I went for Film :)
Moulin' Rouge :D
The only movie I like out of all the movies we're gonna watch the entire sem.
At least, it's something familiar, bright and keeps us happy at times :)
Am addicted to this song :D
Come what may
Until the next random gibberish post

The medical 'experts'
The other day I was looking for a place to sit in the cafeteria. So, as usual I put my bag down just so I could BOOK the seat. Hello? Seats aren't easy to find and sometimes I've to go one big round for ten-fifteen mins just to get a place. And most of the time, I just wait until it's not so packed with people.. probably 2pm ish.
Ordered food.
Thank God I made the right decision to buy the chicken thigh.
:)
When I came back however, there was this guy sitting at my place! Oh no! How? One big gang summore! Die lah! Where to sit???
So, when I said excuse me... then he realised what he did, moved to the chair inside. Finally, I popped out that question: Can I sit here? Not very polite, but I guess youngsters these days don't even bother to ask. That's sad.
The guy who moved one chair away said sth like: Yeah, hor! I think we shd be the one asking.
Heh! Tahu pun!
LOL.
Soon, the other two seats facing me were filled with gals. The rest were taken up by guys.
You have no idea how awkward it felt like to be in the bunch of these people.. esp when you have no company.
They started talking and after that laughing and what not. Honestly, I felt very paiseh man... Can't help but listen to the conversation.
Suddenly one of the girls started talking to me.
Gal: You study philosophy?
Me: Oh no, no... this is the dept ( what they call it) in Aussie..
After explaning to her,
she intro herself
Gal: Oh, we're from Medicine
Me: *eyes pop out*
Gal: I know, we don't look like Med students, right???
Then , we started comparing workload.
I know-lah. A lot of people think Arts school is relaxing. Well, I'd say not as hectic as medicine or any of the science courses... but... it actually does involve LOADS of research until you go BONKERS, which is why I'm here now to talk about this instead of dealing with stuff like hegemonic masculinity, heterosexuality and gender bending. ZzzzzzZzzz, believe me, this is the LAST sem and TIME I'm going to do Gender as a unit. Not because it's BORING but because there's just way too many theories... I just hope Gender wouldn't murder my GPA so much..
See? How much I can actually talk abt other stuff?
Anyway, the guy beside me said: Our life is very SAD. Every week got exam, one. That's why we're like that when we're outside of lectures and classes.
In fact, on that day, they were having exams..
Sigh, I get what you mean.
speaking of which I've no idea how but I've to do 3 assignments at once so that in two weeks time, I don't "nervous breakdown".
Back to my boring assignments :(

I've been reading
K.S. Maniam's " The Return"
definitely more enjoyable and fun to read than Salman Rushdie's East West. I wonder why HE has to use magic realism. I thought only Latin American writers do that. Ah! Whatever happens, that book isn't gonna be read again after the sem ends...
I feel so M'sian after reading just few chapters of Maniam.
:)
These are the kinds of books that I enjoy reading.
No offence to Rushdie.
Postcolonial Literature drives one crazy but at the same time addresses issues that we often take for granted.
Okay, "RETURN"-ing to my NOVEL now.

Memento
Not a straightforward film.
It's that kind of movie that plays with your mind
You question everything that's in the movie
Just like Lenny
since he cannot create new memories
Another one from Nolan
Thank you for bringing us into the world of Lenny
And telling the story in a way very few directors would have done
Now, where was I?
Meh, back to work!

Nothing much
This blog is getting blah... and so are my days. Like, excuse me? It's only the 3rd day of class for me, yet I already feel the pressure. Meh, I bet it's the same for all of us at Monash (at least)
Just like every other sem, I've been bombarded with unit guides and readers with countless words. I just hope I won't make a HOLE somewhere because then I'll be doomed for exams.
And since i'm doing Literature (part of my Major) I have to treat 8 novels/books (some of which are quite a pain to read) as best friends EVERY WEEK. FUH! I just wanna finish the exam paper and KNOW that my $$$$ didn't go down the drain. Why must novels be sooooooooo expensive??? Give book lovers a chance to buy at a notsoexpensive rate lah!
Okay, I better stop complaining.. Goodbye.

28 Feb
Yesterday wasn't exactly a day I was looking forward to. Not when your brain keeps thinking of the Oscars when you're supposed to be focusing on your 3-hour lecture, including a FILM/MOVIE which was seriously testing your patience.
Meh, the first day felt blah.
It was also the day someone flew off... without saying anything to me. Heh, but I understand-lah.. (Don't need to tell me, I will always be on FB) .There's always another time u could come back and SURPRISE me. :P
And it was also the day of my 3rd ballet lesson. Believe me, they're getting intense even though it IS supposed to be basic.
Conclusion: 28 Feb wasn't much of a good day.
