The other day I was looking for a place to sit in the cafeteria. So, as usual I put my bag down just so I could BOOK the seat. Hello? Seats aren't easy to find and sometimes I've to go one big round for ten-fifteen mins just to get a place. And most of the time, I just wait until it's not so packed with people.. probably 2pm ish.
Ordered food.
Thank God I made the right decision to buy the chicken thigh.
:)
When I came back however, there was this guy sitting at my place! Oh no! How? One big gang summore! Die lah! Where to sit???
So, when I said excuse me... then he realised what he did, moved to the chair inside. Finally, I popped out that question: Can I sit here? Not very polite, but I guess youngsters these days don't even bother to ask. That's sad.
The guy who moved one chair away said sth like: Yeah, hor! I think we shd be the one asking.
Heh! Tahu pun!
LOL.
Soon, the other two seats facing me were filled with gals. The rest were taken up by guys.
You have no idea how awkward it felt like to be in the bunch of these people.. esp when you have no company.
They started talking and after that laughing and what not. Honestly, I felt very paiseh man... Can't help but listen to the conversation.
Suddenly one of the girls started talking to me.
Gal: You study philosophy?
Me: Oh no, no... this is the dept ( what they call it) in Aussie..
After explaning to her,
she intro herself
Gal: Oh, we're from Medicine
Me: *eyes pop out*
Gal: I know, we don't look like Med students, right???
Then , we started comparing workload.
I know-lah. A lot of people think Arts school is relaxing. Well, I'd say not as hectic as medicine or any of the science courses... but... it actually does involve LOADS of research until you go BONKERS, which is why I'm here now to talk about this instead of dealing with stuff like hegemonic masculinity, heterosexuality and gender bending. ZzzzzzZzzz, believe me, this is the LAST sem and TIME I'm going to do Gender as a unit. Not because it's BORING but because there's just way too many theories... I just hope Gender wouldn't murder my GPA so much..
See? How much I can actually talk abt other stuff?
Anyway, the guy beside me said: Our life is very SAD. Every week got exam, one. That's why we're like that when we're outside of lectures and classes.
In fact, on that day, they were having exams..
Sigh, I get what you mean.
speaking of which I've no idea how but I've to do 3 assignments at once so that in two weeks time, I don't "nervous breakdown".
Back to my boring assignments :(
